THE PATH FINDER RESCUE SLED WAS DEVELOPED
AS A CASUALTY TRANSFER SYSTEM FOR USE IN
SHALLOWS AND MUD.
3m x 700mm rescue sled, black with yellow sides
The unit handles extremely well in accessing areas that rescue
boats can not reach, providing a stable working platform for
marine rescue. The unit is easily towed, paddled or line
transferred and packs down to the size of a standard B.A. set.
Further developments of the sled led to trials in conjunction
with Swiftwater Rescue techniques. The Swiftwater system
allows the sled to quickly access rescue situations in fast flows
of water.
The sled has been used operationally with jet bikes and fast
rescue craft for the recovery of casualties. When clipped to
the side of a fast rescue craft or pontoon, the sled will act as
a platform enabling easy recovery of secured casualties,
swimmers or divers.
Two sleds can be joined together with a twining rig providing
a very stable platform with casualty access between the hulls.
Twinned sleds operated with two rescue personnel make highrisk
rescue situations a safer option. The innovative properties
of the units design allows it to be applied to other hazardous
environments including ice, snow or wetlands.
The sled system compacts enough to be carried on a back
pack making a versatile and effective system. Standard B.A.
bottles can be used for fast inflation.
